Dr Peter Puhl

Clinical Neurologist, Neurophysiologist MBBS, FRACP

Dr Peter Puhl is a compassionate and highly skilled neurologist with experience in a broad range of neurological conditions, with special interest in headaches and movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease. Dr Puhl is highly experienced in use of botulinum toxin in neurological conditions, including headache, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), hemifacial spasm, dystonia and spasticity. He is an experienced neurophysiologist performing nerve conduction studies, electromyography and other electrophysiological investigations.

Dr Puhl graduated from the University of Kiel, Germany. He completed the majority of his postgraduate training in Australia, in addition to 2 years of neurology training at the University Hospital in Lübeck, Germany. He obtained further subspecialty training in neuromuscular medicine and the use of botulinum toxin at Concord General Repatriation Hospital in Sydney. He is a lecturer at the Australian National University, Sydney Campus (Sydney Adventist Hospital) and is actively involved in teaching of medical students, as well as training of junior doctors. Dr Puhl is fluent in English and German.

Dr Puhl has admitting rights at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Hornby Hospital as well as The Mater Hospital in North Sydney.

  • Movement Disorders including Parkinson’s disease.
  • Injection therapy with botulinum toxin for several neurological conditions, including movements disorders and headaches.
  • Disorders of nerves and muscles.
